Garden! Garden! Garden!

Best way to beat the end of winter blues? Start seeds!

The two-tier grow light station is now downstairs in the dining room and I only had to take it apart twice and put it back together twice! (I have treacherous, old farmhouse stairs and now the walls REALLY need some attention.)

I'll definitely need to cat proof them. Pixel's been camped out on the bottom shelf for a good part of the weekend.

Started yesterday: Garden huckleberries, purple kiwi vines, rosemary, and Siam Queen purple basil. My traumatized jade plants are soaking up some much needed sun as well.

Pictures to come when it looks nice.

I need to do this too. I have a vision of where I want to set up my grow light and seed tray, but I need to clean out a portion of the utility room to do it. Not impossible but definitely an hour of work or two.

And I have seeds for you! I was going to bring them to the last game. Do you want them before or after Ambercon?

Cat proofing... Don't know if it will provide a barrier against the cats, but you can get those reflective heat 'blankets' pretty cheap at places like K-mart. Wrapped around the outside of the assembly, they will give the plants a little more of a light and heat boost.

That's a cool idea. So far the neighbor's cat doesn't do anything but crap in the beds.

For the seed starting station, I think a wrapping of chicken wire will keep the monkeys out. ;)
